Cooking Tips

Peanut Butter Granola. Ingredients:
-200 g oatmeal
-50 g of unsalted peanuts
-100 g of a mix of nuts (you can use walnuts, pecans, almonds, cashews, etc. )
-50 g peanut butter (try to use the most natural one, without sugar and extra additives)
-10 g coconut oil (you can also just use sunflower oil)
-40 ml maple syrup
-20 ml agave syrup (*if you don’t have syrups at home, you can replace the whole amount of syrup, that means 60 ml, for honey)
-1 tsp cinnamon powder
-Pinch of salt

Sage Syrup- Ingredients (for 1 small bottle of 250 ml approx.):

-12 fresh sage leaves

-1 cup of water (250 ml)

-1 cup of sugar (250 g) I used a special syrup sugar, but normal crystal sugar also works.

-1 tsp lemon juice

Sterilise the bottle by putting it in boiling water or the dishwasher.

Wash the leaves.

Add the sugar and water to the pot, stir and bring it to a boil on a medium temperature. Once it boils, reduce temperature and cook for 4 minutes.

Add the leaves and cook for 1 minute.

Remove the pot from the heat. Let the syrup rest with the leaves for 30 minutes.

After that, remove the leaves, add the lemon juice to the syrup and stir.

Use a funnel and sieve to pour the syrup into the bottle.

Store the syrup in the fridge or in a cool and dark area. The syrup should stay good for several weeks. Once you open the bottle, keep it in your fridge.

Drink it mixed with tap or sparkling water. Or add it to your cocktails, hot drinks, desserts, etc.

Every Summer Rathausplatz or Vienna's city hall transforms into an open-air cinema/theatre, where you can watch and listen to operas, concerts, plays, etc. while eating some delicious national and international food. This Festival is by far my favourite summer activity in Vienna. Perfect to spend a good time with your friends and family. If you have a chance to visit Vienna in Summer, you shouldn't miss it!

My favourite coffee to drink in summer: Mojito Iced Coffee. I discovered it some summers ago, after a very long work day and I fell in love. Because of Corona I started drinking it at home. So here is my refreshing Mojito Iced Coffee recipe:

~250 ml cold coffee
~100 ml milk (I used a Barista edition oat drink)
~Ice cubes
~3-4 Mojito mint or peppermint leaves
~10-15 ml of Mojito Mint sirup
